What's in your water

Pick your city. We pull the numbers from the published water report.

  • Hardness: 5.5 to 7 grains per gallon (moderately hard)
  • Disinfectant: Chlorinated
  • Disinfection byproducts: Trace disinfection byproducts listed in the city report

Santa Rosa city water is moderately hard, about 5.5 to 7 grains per gallon, and chlorinated. That's what causes spots on dishes, scale on shower doors, and the taste at the tap.

What the system does

Softens

No spots, scale, or dry skin after showers.

Filters

Takes out chlorine, taste, and odor for every tap in the house.

Drinking water

Reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink, so you stop buying bottled water.

Why it costs less than the quote you got

The big brands send a rep to your house, test your water at your kitchen table, and quote $6,000 to $12,000 for a comparable system. That price pays for the rep, the commission, and the showroom. We skip all of that. Same class of equipment, installed by a licensed local plumber, sold by phone in 5 minutes.

Questions, answered

Do I need a water test?+

No. For city water we use your city's published water report, so there's no in-home test. For private wells we use a certified lab test before quoting, because well water varies house to house.

Is a water softener allowed in Sonoma County?+

Yes. Sonoma County allows water softeners. Our systems use efficient salt-based softening sized for the home, and we follow local rules on discharge and installation.

Where does the system go?+

The whole-home softener and carbon filter go where your main water line enters the house, usually in the garage or on the side of the home. The reverse osmosis unit goes under the kitchen sink.

How long does the install take?+

Most installs take a few hours and are done within days of your call. Precision Pipeworks, a licensed California plumbing contractor, performs every install.

What about well water?+

We treat well water too. Because wells vary, we use a certified lab test first, then size the system to what's actually in your water.

What's the warranty?+

1 year on workmanship, plus the manufacturer warranty on the equipment. Every install is performed by Precision Pipeworks under its own license and insurance.
